Today’s tag is full of simple tricks for you to try. The base of the tag was created using a piece of Core’dinations cardstock that was run through a Fiskars Paper Crimper, then sanded to reveal the color core of the paper. Punched borders strips were added to the bottom of the tag, and an A Muse ribbon was wrapped around the base and double knotted. The “fourteen” word was stamped on patterned paper using a charcoal grey Colorbox Chalk Ink, a great alternative to more contrasting black ink. Each letter was individually cut and stapled to the tag using Tim Holtz’s Tiny Attacher… another fun tool that adds a lot of detail without much effort. To create the dimensional tree embellishment, I simply layered six sheets of vintage sheet music and cut a triangle shape. I used my sewing machine to stitch up the center of the triangle onto a punched circle, but you could achieve the same effect by using a standard stapler. The layers of the tree were then fanned out to create the dimensional cone shape. This element was adhered to a larger punched circle and embellished with adhesive pearls before being adhered to the tag. A hole was punched in the top of the tag and tied with a coordinating piece of ribbon.
