December 4th
To create the gift element on this tag, I used double sided papers from My Minds Eye (it takes all the hard work out of matching patterns). I cut four squares from the red patterned paper and inked the edges using a coordinating ink pad. Adhesive was applied to the center of each square then the pieces were mounted to the tag. I used my sewing machine to stitch around the edges of the squares to add visual interest. To create the bow element, I cut four 6x ½” strips of green patterned paper, then folded each strip so the ends overlapped creating a double ended loop. Each set of loops was secured at the center with an American Crafts brad, then the brad was attached to the tag.
Adding machine or hand stitching to your paper crafting projects is easy and fun, just remember to make sure you avoid using adhesive where you know you will be stitching so as not to “gum up” the needle.
